Finally recovered from holidays and a lovely wedding I want to introduce you to the new kids hanging around my kitchen. Admire the cold shiny surface of my first marble slab, kindly given as a gift from my mother (isn’t it great to come back from a long trip and find such a lovely present on your kitchen table?). Nothing better to pair with my newly bought Epicurean french rolling pin, which has already been used to feed my friend Caterina many tartellettes, down in Ottawa where I found it. Caterina, who probably has psychic qualities, gave me one oven glove (she doesn’t like to cook and definitively is not a baker, I would have bought two!) item much needed in my kitchen…due to the recent death of my rubber oven gloves. Last but not least three cookie cutters, which I was looking for in Switzerland and found in a Walmart in Toronto, needed for many different purposes…from cookie cutting, to burger shaping and crumpets baking (which I have never done and looking forward to). What else, let’s start baking again!
New entry nella cucina
Finalmente ripresami dalle vacanze e un bellissimo matrimonio celebrato in Inghilterra voglio presentarvi i nuovi utensili che girano per la mia cucina. Ammirate la superficie liscia e brillante della mia bellissima lastra di marmo, bellissimo regalo di mia madre (quanto é piacevole trovare un simile dono sul proprio tavolo della cucina, al ritorno da un lungo viaggio?). Non c’é abbinamento più azzeccato per il mio nuovo mattarello Epicurean, acquistato ad Ottawa dove mi é stato utilissimo per la preparazione di buonissime tartellettes per la mia amica Caterina. Amica cara e probabilmente dotata di poteri telepatici, avendomi regalato un bellissimo guanto da forno (beh Cate non panifica e non sospettava l’ideale fossero due guanti!) proprio poco dopo essermi accorta che i miei di gomma si erano lacerati. E da ultimi gli agognati taglia biscotti tondi (trovati da walmart a Toronto), per fare di tutto, dai biscotti ai burger per finire con i crumpets, che corteggio da troppo tempo ma che non ho affrontato non avendo una forma adatta. Che cosa posso dire? È ora di riaccendere il forno!
